If you've got John Hurt in your movie, it's a good idea to give him a little voiceover in the trailer.
A new sixty-second international trailer for Snowpiercer, a tale of social inequality and revolution in an unconventional dystopia, knows that all too well, using Hurt for a bit of early gravitas and suggesting that the film could be a rare feature of hard sci-fi and humanism.
"You're not afraid of the dark, are you?" Vin Diesel growls in the first TV spot for Riddick, alluding to both the character's first onscreen adventure and one of his distinguishing attributes.
Right off the bat in the latest production blog, Peter Jackson reveals that The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will not have a presence at this month's Comic-Con.
Why not? Because Jackson's still making the movie down in New Zealand, and he'll be shooting when San Diego turns into a marketing pressure cooker. With no actors available for a panel and pick-ups taking up all of his time, Jackson can't exactly assemble a sizzle reel, so this will be a Hobbit-less year at the annual shindig.
