Dexter is a killer who grapples with fitting into society while, at the same time, he struggles with his inability to feel emotion. The irony of Dexter's life is that he works closely as a blood splatter analyst with the very people who hunt his kind - the homicide departments.
SR Quick Take:
Dexter Morgan's adventures come to an end, but is it the end you expected? There were so many possible endings that would have left most fans of the series happy, at least happier for the most part, but they choose an ending that many fans didn't like, or I should say "I didn't like it at all". Yes, it could be a gentle fade into the wind, or in this case, timber country, but it just doesn't feel right, Dexter the Lumberjack? One can hope, even if in vain, that a surprise "What Happened Next" movie would be made by Showtime, but I doubt they will bother. It seems studios are happy with leaving fans in the lurch when it comes to a series ending or cancelling, no closure is ok for them. Sure some will like the way Dexter ended, others will not, but either way at least we got a ending, so I am happy in some small way.
