The month of December (2016) has Natalie Portman starring as Jacqueline Kennedy, in the immediate aftermath of John F. Kennedy's assassination in 1963. Star Wars ignites the Big Screen again with a stand alone film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and next year Star Wars VIII hits screens on December 15, 2017. Jennifer Lawrence stars in Passengers, another Sci-Fi film and this time her skin is not blue (X-Men: Apocalypse as Mystique for those of you missing the "blue" meaning), and Assassin's Creed goes from video game to big screen.

The epic global phenomenon of "The Hunger Games" arrives at its powerful final chapter with "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" – in which Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) now fully realizes the stakes are no longer just for survival, they are for the future.

The second adventure of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has now grossed a whopping $296.5 million so far, and internationally Catching Fire has a global take of $573 million. Disney's Frozen adds to the box office tally this Thanksgiving weekend, making it a big turkey-day as well, and breaking longstanding  holiday records.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire lived up to it's name "Catching Fire" and attracted huge crowds to movie theaters this weekend.

The film is based on the 1981 comic book storyline “Days of Future Past,” by Chris Claremont and John Byrne which ran in the ‘Uncanny X-Men’ series.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark.

The third and final part of the Hunger Games Trilogy "Mockingjay" has begun filming, and there is still a couple months before the next installment "Catching Fire" blazes its way into theaters. So fans have good news on both counts.
