The second adventure of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has now grossed a whopping $296.5 million so far, and internationally Catching Fire has a global take of $573 million. Disney's Frozen adds to the box office tally this Thanksgiving weekend, making it a big turkey-day as well, and breaking longstanding  holiday records.

Frozen, the latest feature from Walt Disney Animation Studios, rode a strong critical reception to success.  The musical continued the animated hot streak that began with Tangled and continued through Wreck-It Ralph, hauling in an estimated $66.7 million over the weekend

Other new releases this holiday weekend got swallowed up by the big two films. Black Nativity, the big-screen adaptation of the popular Langston Hughes musical, had a terrible debut this weekend landing at number eight on the charts with $3.8 million, and Homefront starring Jason Statham, written by Sylvester Stallone barely grabbed the the top 5 spot with $6.97 million.

Upcoming Movies This Weekend:

The Last Days on Mars - On the last day of the first manned mission to Mars, a crew member of Tantalus Base believes he has made an astounding discovery – fossilized evidence of bacterial life.

Out of the Furnace - From Scott Cooper, the critically-acclaimed writer and director of "Crazy Heart," comes a gripping and gritty drama about family, fate, circumstance, and justice.
