Box Office Weekend: Nov. 22-24, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Ignites

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire lived up to it's name "Catching Fire" and attracted huge crowds to movie theaters this weekend.

The highly-anticipated sequel opened to an estimated $161.1 million, which is the best opening ever in the month of November. It also topped the original by about $9 million, the first movie opened with a little over $152 million last year in March.

In addition to that whopping domestic haul, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has also collected $146.6 million internationally.

This weekend's only other new wide release, Delivery Man, opened in fourth place with an estimated $8.2 million.


Opening Next Weekend:

Oldboy -  is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement.
