Add a commentAll hail Stephen Collins!
According to TV Guide Magazine, the veteran actor (No Ordinary Family, Private Practice) will guest star on Falling Skies Season 3 in an especially powerful role: Benjamin Hathaway, the President of the United States at the time of the alien invasion.

Collins - whose character is described as "charismatic" and who has been forced into combat like everyone else - will appear on the fourth episode of next summer.
Look for Hathaway to be based out of Colorado and have an urge to meet Noah Wyle's Tom Mason in order to understand his alien-destroying strategies.
The TNT drama has also cast Robert Sean Leonard and Gloria Reuben in major Season 3 roles. The show returns with new episodes in mid-2013.

Add a commentWith Robert Sean Leonard and Gloria Reuben booked on multiple episodes, it's safe to say we're already excited for Falling Skies Season 3.
But before we look way ahead, let's take a look back at the 10 episodes that comprised this TNT drama's summer run. Which installments stood out? What separated 2012 from 2011? What is our final Report Card grade? Read on and chime in with your own take...
Best Episode: "Love and Other Acts of Courage." A 2nd Mass member died. Hal and Maggie grew a lot closer. And we Tom was let in on the major Red Eye secret that not all aliens are working together.
Worst Episode: "Young Bloods." This was exceptionally poor all around. It randomly brought the survivors into contact with a bunch of kids, one of whom happened to be Weaver's daughter. Their relationship was
Robert Sean Leonard and Gloria Reuben have both signed on for Falling Skies Season 3.
The long-running House star will portray Dr. Roger Kadar on the TNT drama next summer, a scientist who runs Charleston’s power grid and lives underground... with his pet rats.
Known as "The Rat King" to other residents, Leonard's character will appear on five episodes.
Reuben, meanwhile, will reunite her ex-ER costar as Marina Perlata, a fellow human resistance leader who will work closely with Noah Wyle’s Tom Mason.
Deadline first reported this Falling Skies casting news.

Add a commentFalling Skies was juggling a great many balls on its Season 2 finale, "A More Perfect Union." And I'm not sure the series caught many of them successfully.
After last Sunday's arrival in Charleston, the drama set us up with a military coup and a looming Skitter attack. Early on in the finale, meanwhile, Ben returned, Tom was placed in custody alongside his former professor, only for the Second Mass to voluntarily go after the alien Overlord... which followed an Army-led attack against the Skitters and, oh, right, we learned Anne was pregnant.
A lot was thrown at the viewer in the course of just a few minutes; too much in my opinion. It made for a frenzied final episode of what's been a mostly focused, terrific season for Falling Skies.
The battle itself was impressive. The special effects team has been
