A new image has arrived from upcoming action-fest The Hunger Games, and it gives us a first look at the training attire worn by the tributes from District 12.

The image shows Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the two combatants selected to represent their District in the televised fight to the death known as The Hunger Games.

Now, if we were being unkind, we’d say that those jumpsuits make them look like contestants on The Crystal Maze. Fortunately however, Richard O’Brien is nowhere to be seen, and our young heroes will have more to deal with than being locked in a room for half an hour.

Mellark is looking like the weak link in the team in this photo, and judging by that scaredy-cat expression, he doesn't look to eager to head into battle. If District 12 isn’t to go hungry, Katniss is going to have to deliver in spades…

Directed by Gary Ross, and co-starring Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland and Liam Hemsworth, The Hunger Games will open in the UK on 23 March 2012. Let the games begin!
