Full Recap (spoilers)
Dexter season 6 "Talk to the Hand" heats up as the finale approaches. Dexter's anonymous tip leads Miami Metro to the boat and the two bodies. Debra notifies Homeland Security because of the threat of poisonous gas.
Travis convinces Doomsday Adam's widow Beth that she is the Chosen One to carry out God's plan. Her job is to carry the poisonous gas into Miami Metro Homicide. She will use Batista's key card to bypass the metal detector. Her target is Debra.
Quinn redeems his season-long drinking problem by being the first to respond to Doomsday Adam's house. Travis hears him coming and sets the bed on fire where Batista is tied up. Quinn busts in and saves him.
Beth gets into the station and insists on speaking to Debra, as she has information on Wormwood. As Debra invites her back to her office, Dexter happens to see Beth click the button that mixes the gases and throws her into an interrogation room. Debra sets off the fire alarm, mandating an evacuation of the building. Dexter is a hero but was exposed to enough of the gas to potentially cause him problems with weakness and nosebleeds.
Travis tries to justify the botched poisoning as God's will so that he can be the one in charge of carrying out the master plan. Dexter tries to get him to come out by sending Travis a message. He paints an angel statue in blood, including the mark of the Beast (666) on its forehead. He attaches Gellar's hand to its torso with a nail. The rest of Gellar's body has been drowned in the swamp. Dexter sends a video to Travis that has his own boat in the background. Travis finishes his tableau of the Ring of Fire, complete with Dexter's face as that of Satan.
Side effects of the gas kick in and Travis easily overpowers Dexter and injects him with Dexter's syringe. Travis pours a ring of gasoline around Dexter in a lifeboat and sets it on fire. Dexter manages to escape, of course. Their final battle is set to take place in the Dexter season 6 finale on December 18, 2011.
Debra's continued woes
Debra is put into a difficult situation when she goes out to dinner with Matthews. He admits that he was the John who tried to revive the prostitute who had overdosed. He begs her to do him a favor, as he has known her his whole life, and to get rid of the case. Somehow the Chief still finds out and asks Matthews to retire. Now LaGuerta gets to move up even higher.
Her difficulties increase when in therapy, her psychologist suggests that her fascination and attachment to her brother and difficulties with relationships indicate that she is actually in love with him. She even starts to have sexual dreams about him.
The Hand
That hand from the Ice Truck Killer just keeps reappearing. When Dexter again blows off Louis the intern, Louis starts to seek some kind of weird revenge. He writes all over it and then packs it up in a box addressed to Dexter.
Next Week: This Is The Way The World Ends
In the Season 6 finale, Dexter and Homicide race against a lunar eclipse to catch the Doomsday Killers before their final gruesome act; Debra struggles with a new emotional reality.
