The first clip from this black and white animated feature debuted online last week. It introduced Mr. Rzykruski, a teacher clearly modeled on Burton idol Vincent Price, and his thoughts on the power of lightning. Then this Monday, Disney rolled out another clip in which young Victor Frankenstein has harnessed the power of lightning to bring his beloved dog Sparky back from the dead.
This one jumps way ahead in the story, after some of Victor's classmates have used his innovation to create their abominations. Bob is attempting to evade some rampaging sea monkeys, while Toshiaki deals with a far bigger problem that requires Frankenstein's attention.
The latest clip is here thanks to the good folks at IGN.
John August, who worked with Burton on Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Dark Shadows, and previous stop-motion movie Corpse Bride, wrote the screenplay here. He worked from the original short, with a story by Burton and Leonard Ripps.
Charlie Tahan voices Victor, with Robert Capron and James Hiroyuki Liao as Bob and Toshiaki, respectively. The voice cast also includes Martin Landau, Catherine O'Hara, Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Atticus Shaffer, Conchata Ferrell, Tom Kenny, and Christopher Lee.
