Last week, Disney unveiled the first clip from the movie, introducing Mr. Rzykruski, the unconventional science teacher voiced by Martin Landau. Mr. Rzykruski held court on lightning, which is presumably used as the elixir of life that brings Victor's pup back into the realm of the quick. This new clip doesn't show a lightning strike, opting instead for the tender moments after Victor's big gamble. A hole in the attic ceiling makes it clear just how Sparky gets his groove back.
The clip is also available in high definition at Yahoo! Movies.
Burton's second theatrical feature this year is actually based on his 1984 short film starring Daniel Stern and Shelley Duvall. Burton, an animator at Disney and not yet a director at the time, apparently turned in a black and white short that the studio simply didn't know what to do with. Now that he's globally-successful brand Tim Burton, however, Disney invested in a feature film version.
Charlie Tahan provides the voice for Victor Frankenstein, while Burton veterans Landau, Catherine O'Hara, and Winona Ryder lend assistance as Rzykruski, Susan Frankenstein, and Elsa van Helsing. Christopher Lee, Martin Short, Tom Kenny, Atticus Shaffer, and Robert Capron also offer their voices.
Frankenweenie arrives in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on October 5th, meaning there's not much time to get your Rogue 3D Eyewear.
