We've previously seen Skyfall video blogs on the new leading ladies, 007's swanky sartorial choices, production design, and even Bond's whip.
This one is all about London, though. It consists principally of footage of the massive production on the streets of the city, such as Bond walking sexily, Bond driving sexily, and bond being sexy sexily. Sam Mendes describes shooting in the city and how being a Brit helped with that task, while Judi Dench shares her enthusiasm for capturing London and Craig points out that a Bond movie gets access to parts of the city denied other productions.
Since the Olympics created at least a few Anglophiles here in the colonies, it's of interest that Craig asserts, "Sam and I wanted to make it British. And it's not some flag-waving thing that either one of us is interested in, it's just about basing Bond in Britain. And it's very exciting just to get out on the streets and show London for what it is."
Like its predecessors, this video blog officially debuted at 007.com.
A week ago, we saw four character posters for the film featuring Craig as Bond, Naomie Harris as his fellow MI-6 agent Eve, Berenice Marlohe as Bond Girl Severine, and Javier Bardem as the villainous Silva. If you missed those, click right here to take a look.
In addition to the actors who got themselves character posters, Skyfall stars Ralph Fiennes, Helen McCrory, Ola Rapace, Ola Rapace, Albert Finney, and even Ben Whishaw as the new Q.
I don't know that I've ever actually been excited for a Bond movie's release; they're simply a fact of the universe and we all end up seeing them. This one, though, looks every shade of promising, despite seeming to share its principal plot point with Mission: Impossible. Who cares about that when there's hope that we'll see this Bond live up to the promise hinted at Casino Royale?
Skyfall falls from the sky on November 9th.
