This movie was actually shot way back in 2009, but the financial implosion at MGM meant that the Swayze-less remake has spent a few years in limbo, with an uncertain release that's finally coming courtesy of Open Road. The extra time allowed for a puzzling decision, as the invading army is now completely different than it was when the new Red Dawn was filmed. This updated take on the story insurrectionist high school students initially swapped out Milius's Soviet invasion for China, but in post-production that has been changd to North Korea.
In addition to swapping out adversaries, the delay has also seen several castmembers become stars. Thanks to their roles in Thor and The Hunger Games, both Chris Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are now far more marketable actors than they were three years ago. So of course they're on the poster, along with erstwhile Tyra Collette Adrianne Palicki, Josh Peck of The Wackness, and Isabel Lucas of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

The poster premiered at Yahoo! Movies.
Hugely respected second unit director, stunt coordinator, and stunt performer Dan Bradley makes his debut as director, and his experience pretty much ensures that though it lacks Patrick Swayze, Lea Thompson, and Charlie Sheen, this Red Dawn will have solid action.
The cast also includes Alyssa Diaz, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Brett Cullen, and Connor Cruise.
Red Dawn finally gets its cinematic ass in theaters on November 21st.
