Cloud gaming service OnLive has struck a deal with the people behind the upcoming Ouya that will have the service bringing its full services to the console at launch.
This service benefits both parties, since Ouya is now essentially guaranteed a substantial catalogue of games while OnLive effectively finds another foothold in its cross-platform functionality empire.
Bruce Grove, OnLive UK general manager said,
"When OnLive first heard about Ouya, we were excited to see console gaming becoming more available and open. Like Ouya, we came to gaming with a new vision for making top-quality gaming accessible to more people, and we continue to look for ways to expand on that vision."
"Ouya is rethinking the console business, making waves by using standard technology to make gaming for your living room accessible, affordable and more innovative than ever. In OnLive's case, we pioneered a groundbreaking, cloud-based system that instantly delivers games to any device on demand," he added.
Ouya, an Android-based console, made waves with its fabulously successful Kickstarter (the project has now made over six times its initial goal). However, concerns arose over how the console was going to woo developers over to the platform. While the first game promised to the device, a Human Element episodic prequel offered up by Robotoki's Robert Bowling, this new deal with OnLive may be enough to allay any further worries when it comes to content for the Ouya.
