Photographic Proof that Lady Gaga and Alexa Vega are in 'Machete Kills'Photographic Proof that Lady Gaga and Alexa Vega are in 'Machete Kills'

Robert Rodriguez is no stranger to stunt casting, and he's revealed the stunt cast equivalent of doing a midair back flip on an airborne dirtbike with another supporting player in the sequel Machete Kills.  The film will once again ostensibly follow the violent exploits of Mexican badass and sex machine Machete, played by Danny Trejo, but like its predecessor, it will be filled with many an over the top character played by recognizable actors of many different stripes, including, it seems, international pop star Lady Gaga.

If there's one thing America loves, it's Lady Gaga, and as a character poster demonstrates beyond the shadow of a doubt, the happily outrageous singer will be appearing in Machete Kills.  If there's two things America loves, the other is child actors who do not grow up to be drug-addled husks of their formerly adorable selves, but instead become crazy-sexy functional adults.  It seems the Machete sequel will feature one such actress, thanks to Alexa Vega.

But back to Gaga.  The newly-unveiled poster has a scantily clad Gaga as La Chameleon, who from the look of it is a thoroughly French femme fatale, what with the smoking gun, underthings, and wolf skin draped around here.  Director and co-writer Rodriguez tweeted the character poster yesterday, along with the exclamatory text, "I just finished working with on , she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!"

But you were wondering about the whole child-star-turned-sexy-grown-up thing, right?  That would be Alexa Vega, who previously played pint-sized secret agent Carmen Cortez in all four of Rodriguez's Spy Kids movies, starting with the first in 2001 and capping off with last year's Spy Kids: All the Time in the World

While her Spy Kids co-star Daryl Sabara showed up in Machete, Vega is playing a character known as Killjoy in Machete Kills.  Yesterday Vega damn near broke the internet by revealing this image of herself as Killjoy via her personal Instagram:

Both the reveal of Gaga and Vega's bosoms are having the effect of dramatically increasing interest in Machete Kills, even more effectively than the presence of Robert De Niro, Steven Seagal, and Lindsay Lohan in the same movie did for its predecessor.

Those actors won't be back for the sequel, but in addition to Danny Trejo again sharing his movie with a crowded cast, returning players for the first movie include Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez.  Rodriguez's knack for stunt casting is on display with an eclectic ensemble that also features Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Demian Bichir, Mel Gibson, Vanessa Hudgens, Cuba Gooding Jr., William Sadler, and Charlie Sheen as the president.

Machete Kills is intended to be the second installment in a trilogy that would conclude with Machete Kills Again, sending the hero into space.
