Scotty and Lauren on American Idol Season 10The final show of Season 10 American Idol features the last two "Idol" hopefuls Scotty McCreery and Lauran Alaina waiting for the results.  Both gave their final performances last night in a three round show down.  Complete with the final song for each being their first original song should they win.

"First up big news," announces Ryan Seacrest, "you set a world record last night with over 122 million votes!"  Also going on the say that Season 10 American Idol received three quarters of a billion votes, that's two votes for every man, woman, and child in America. Getting things started in the first performance of the evening, the top thirteen perform Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" with energy and excitement giving the audience a taste of what the live performance tour will be like.

Next up, Season Rocker James Durbin takes the stage with Judas Priest complete with leather studs and a hat.  A fun time on stage and great to see Durbin doing his thing.

A shameless Judge plug for Randy Jackson who's trademark saying is legendary "In it to Win it".

Next up, Jacob Lusk ripping a little gospel with Kirk Franklin singing "I smile" and a surprise appearance with Gladys Knight while donations to the Red Cross for the tornado victims flash on the screen.

Casy Abrams performs with Jack Black doing a little singing "Voice Off" while women bicycle on stage and start shaking their booty.  Probably another American Idol first.

Following, what is probably the funnest performance of the night is the ladies top thirteen and a little Beyonce.

Another shameless Judge plug for Steven Tyler the loose canon Rocker.  Winning the award for most Idol logos over his lips due to his colorful metaphors.

Next up Haley Reinhart and Tony Bennett take the viewer back to the years of the Big Band classics and doing a little "stepping out with my baby."

The final shameless Judge plug for Jennifer Lopez, "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World"...What more can be said?

A little more top thirteen ladies mix it up with Lil John and TLC.

Scotty hits the stage with Tim McGraw singing "Live Like Your Dying." Definitely a phenomenal performance.

Mark Anthony gives American Idol a little spicy salsa dish with Jennifer Lopez thrown into the ingredients.

A humorous segment on Idols reflecting on what it's like to be voted out with Casey Abrams saying "America must really hate me.  I got eliminated twice."

Then the top thirteen guys take the stage and after doing a few sets, Sir Tom Jones joins the group.

Lady Gaga performs her brand new single the "Edge of Glory" delivering strong vocals and an elaborate stage performance.

After the break, Lauren takes the stage with Carrie Underwood.

Beyonce performs her new single "1+1".

An amazing spiderman jumps into the show and Bono gets drawn into the web.

The countdown to the winner results gets closer, but first Steven Taylor takes the stage and the piano to sing, "Dream On".  The man definitely still has the power vocals.

Lauren Alaina & Scotty McCreery on Americal IdolFinally the moment has arrived and the results are carried on stage while Scotty and Lauren stand front and center anticipation hangs on their every breath as the envelope is handed to Seacrest.

Dim the lights and here we got... After the nation wide vote the winner of American Idol Season 10 is...

Scotty McCreery!

Ryan Seacrest asks him how he feels and Scotty responds, "It's been a years since Lauren Alaina and I tried out now.  Me and her have been together since day one and we are going to stay together.  Never in my wildest dreams... I got to thank the Lord first, He got me here."

Scotty performs closing out the show, but this time not as a contestant, but as the new American Idol winner singing "I Love You This Big." -- And the fans proved they love him this big.

The guys continue their winning streak. The last female "Idol" winner was Jordin Sparks in 2007.
