Three men have been arrested in connection with a pipe-bombing that occured at a residence in Monroe, New Jersey.
Jeanne Bezerra, who spoke to CBS New York on the matter, said that it all started when a pipe-bomb was fired into her daughter's bedroom. Shortly after, another bomb was launched into the bedroom.
"So we hid in the closet because then we heard another explosion. While we were on the phone with 911 the fire alarms went off and the emergency person was telling us to leave the house, but we said we think we’re under attack, and we’re afraid if we leave the house we are going to get shot," Bezerra said.
The five members of the Bezerra family then hid in the garage as smoke rose in the house. As police arrived, a third bomb was launched into the house.
The suspects, Michael and Jonathan Cavallo, and Matt Debski are each facing 21 charges and eight bombs were uncovered by police.
While the story itself is rather upsetting, of interest is the Bezerras' alleged belief that the attacks may have been the result of their "oldest son’s involvement in a video game community." Which community, in particular, has not been clarified and the link between the attack and videogames remains vague.
