Even if you're averse to spoilers, this one shouldn't get you too riled. A good chunk of the short scene has shown up in previous trailers. The clip, which runs under a minute, finds Anne Hathaway's Selina Kyle in the custody of the Gotham Police Department, where she has a sit down chat with Officer John Blake. Selina is afraid enough of the villainous Bane that she apparently made herself visible to the cops despite a massive rap sheet, but she doesn't think for a second that Gotham's finest can protect her.
The clip ends with a now-familiar moment, as Blake asks, "Did they kill him?" You may have assumed he was asking about Batman, in which case you'd be half right.
The first official Dark Knight Rises clip appeared online this Wednesday, establishing the eight-years-later Gotham setting with dialogue between Blake and Commissioner Gordon, played once again by Gary Oldman. Then yesterday we saw two new clips, one with Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne dancing it out alongside a rather threatening Selina Kyle, and another where Morgan Freeman returns as Lucius Fox, squiring Bruce around Wayne Enterprises.
In case it slipped your mind, here's the latest synopsis:
It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act.
But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.
The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters next Friday, July 20th.
