The set of images from which the above is taken have been making the rounds on the internet. They're allegedly taken from private showings, held by Hideo Kojima and Konami at Comic Con, at which Gears of War lead Cliffie B was in attendance. There were definitely private showings, but as of yet nobody knows for certain if the pictures that have been leaked are genuine. Konami UK says they're not, but not without adding petrol to the fires before hand.

While the company has yet to make an official statement to the press, their Twitter account has been in full swing. "Fake or real, We love a bit of speculation!" one tweet read, followed by a link to the Reddit page on which this leak has been being discussed. Several tweets followed over the next 15 or so minutes, the final one reading: "Seriously, just in case the ‪#pinch‬ ‪#salt‬ hashtags weren't enough - the chap who claims to have set up the fake rumours has been in touch." The #pinch and #salt hashtags were not present in the early tweet.

So it would seem that official channels have debunked the images - in such a way that it's easy to believe they're patting each other on the back and winking while seeing the replies roll in. The case doesn't quite seem closed...
