I've been looking forward to the end of this hardware generation, but not because I'm desperate to get my hands on an Xbox 720. The rules of engagement change with every hardware bump - the original Xbox never had a smartphone gaming scene to contend with, for instance - but it's probably still safe to say that the deeper into a generation you delve, the better the games you'll end up with.
