Journey's End: Another 'The Dark Knight Rises' Full-Length TrailerJourney's End: Another 'The Dark Knight Rises' Full-Length Trailer

Since there is a teeny-tiny chance that some minute, immeasurable sliver of the global populace isn't aware that The Dark Knight Rises is mere days away from theatrical release, Warner Bros. has taken the precautionary measure of debuting yet another bang-up trailer for the final installment in this Bat-trilogy.  And hey, we've also got a new TV spot that reveals what was, up until now, undoubtedly the best-kept secret of The Dark Knight Rises.

This trailer goes out of its way to establish that this movie is indeed the closing act in the trilogy.  It does so very directly by reminding us of bits from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight for roundabouts 45 seconds before kicking into footage from Christopher Nolan's last Batman adventure.  Said footage includes many an explosion and the usual aphorisms from everyone's favorite butler, as well as a few moments to shine for the supporting cast.

Like many of the previous full-length trailers, the tone is grim and exceedingly serious for most of the time before going into epic action mode near the end.  See for yourself here thanks to Xfinity, where the trailer premiered today.

Another bit of Dark Knight Rises promotion that has bubbled up online today is a rather punchy TV spot that emphasizes the film's sense of humor.  That's not say it's completely unlike everything else we've seen, but it's cut to mix action and bit of funniness.  It also reveals the greatest secret of a ridiculously secretive production: the incomparable Tom Lennon has a cameo as Bruce Wayne's doctor.  That's right, the man who brought Lt. Jim Dangle on Reno 911 and co-wrote many a hit a movie will show up in the last Nolan Batman movie.

Okay, Christian Bale dispenses beat-downs in the cape and cowl one last time, along with Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman.  It's the first and last time in this franchise for Tom Lennon, as well as Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Juno Temple, Matthew Modine, and Aidan Gillen.

If you don't have tickets already, you might miss out on The Dark Knight Rises on July 20th.
