That's right, the aural landscape Mr. Zimmer created for Christopher Nolan's final rumble in Gotham is now online in its entirety for your listening pleasure. All fifteen tracks, the titles of which eschew obvious spoilers, from the commercial soundtrack album can be listened to individually, utterly free of charge. Thanks to the rakish louts across the pond at Empire, you can take a listen to the first score in Nolan's Batman trilogy not to be created in collaboration between Zimmer and James Newton Howard.
Since this is the first Zimmer-only score in the series, it's the most unique of all three, feeling colder and, in some instances, stripped down. It's still recognizably of a piece with the Batman Begins and The Dark Knight scores, though, and reprises many themes from both, including some that we haven't heard since the first movie.
The Dark Knight Rises arrives in theaters next Friday, July 20th, while the score album will hit stores on July 17th.
