Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's LEGO movie has released a job lot of new details, including a new title, casting announcements and a glut of new plot details.
The film will now be titled LEGO: The Piece Of Resistance, and will follow the adventures of "instruction worker" Emmet (voiced by Chris Pratt), a manual labourer in the LEGO world, capable only of following directions from a manual.
When Emmet is mistakenly taken for a creatively-minded "MasterBuilder", however, he finds himself roped into a quest to foil an evil tyrant from locking the world together with glue. Thankfully, he won't be entirely alone, as both Batman and Superman will be appearing in their LEGO forms!
According to Variety, the excellent Will Arnett has signed on to play Batman, while Channing Tatum has reportedly been tapped to supply the voice for Superman, pending any availability in his already busy schedule. Potential casting for that Justice League movie? Well, probably not, but they look a great fit for this one!
Co-directed by Robot Chicken veteran Chris McKay, Lego: The Piece Of Resistance will open in the US on 28 February 2014, with a UK release date yet to be confirmed.
