First up, we've got this brief video playing up Oscorp Tower, where Dr. Curt Connors is employed, Gwen Stacy is an intern, and Peter Parker gets bitten by an genetically futzed-with arachnid. Much of the featurette is dominated by a clip of Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Rhys Ifans, but it also goes includes talking head interview bits with director Marc Webb, set decorator Leslie Pope, and production designer J. Michael Riva, who previously worked on the Marvel Comics adaptations Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and, not coincidentally, Spider-Man 3.
Sony's ambition to kickstart a new trilogy with The Amazing Spider-Man has been quite clear, and the inclusion of Oscorp sets up a possible appearance by Norman Osborn aka the Green Goblin in a second and/or third movie. If the rebooted franchise takes a classic Marvel story involving Gwen Stacy and Norman, then this new take on Spidey could follow our hero in an interesting direction.
Next up we're got an extended TV spot promoting IMAX 3D. Webb introduces the spot and basically says we should all see The Amazing Spider-Man in IMAX because the aspect ratio changes for certain shots and the climactic sequence was specifically designed for the jumbo-sized format. Then it's all Spidey-swinging like mad, suggesting that this movie, which was actually shot in 3D, might be worth seeing in the extra dimension. Maybe.
