The trailer debuted today, along with the first theatrical one-sheet. The independently-financed drama-sorta comedy stars Rashida Jones of Parks and Recreation and SNL's Andy Samberg as Celeste and Jesse, a couple who attempt to remain best friends after their divorce, which means negotiating the emotional minefield of each others' new relationships and lives. Despite both Jones and Samberg's comedic bona-fides, the movie looks more focused on the grounded drama of what they're going through, with any comedy arising from their personalities and the awkwardness of their situation.

Jones actually co-wrote the screenplay with Will McCormack, who appears in the film as an actor, too. Lee Toland Krieger, who previously directed Adam Scott and J.K. Simmons in the hardnosed drama The Vicious Kind, directs here.
The cast includes Elijah Wood, Emma Roberts, Ari Graynor, Rich Sommer, Chris Messina, Chris D'Elia, Janel Parrish, Eric Christian Olsen, and Sarah Wright, who played Millicent Gergich in several episodes of Parks and Rec.
Celeste and Jesse Forever played at this year's Sundance Film Festival, and it arrives in theaters on August 3rd.
