Since the first teaser, released back in March in conjunction with The Hunger Games, was focused on Kristen Stewart's vampiric transformation as Bella, there was some expectation that this new trailer would put a spotlight on Renesmee, the rapidly-aging offspring of Bella and Edward.
Renesmee, played by Mackenzie Foy, does indeed show up in this teaser, but really just as a component of the larger plot. Basically, the Volturi mistakenly believe that the kid is an immortal child, a kid turned vampire through biting, and they head to Forks to punish the Cullens for creating such an uncontrollable kid. Robert Pattinson's Edward and his kin have to assemble a bunch of vampires to protect their own.
See Bella loving vampire life, as well as two parties of superhuman charging each other across a field of snow right here:
The second half of Breaking Dawn looks more action-oriented than its predecessor, what with the bad guys cutting a swath of destruction that leads them right to the Cullens' doorstep. Bill Condon brought a classy sheen and impressive visual acumen to Part 1 without stepping outside of the established series presentation, and it's only natural to be curious what the director of Kinsey will do with vampires and werewolves in pitched battle.
Speaking of werewolves, erstwhile Sharkboy Taylor Lautner is back as Jacob Black. Having formed his own wolfpack, his strange, imprinted devotion to Renesmee puts him conclusively on the side of our heroes for the conclusion of the franchise here. With Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Lautner leading the cast, that leaves for swan songs from the supporting players, including Billy Burke, Maggie Grace, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, Peter Facinelli, Michael Sheen, Dakota Fanning, Lee Pace, Elizabeth Reaser, and Cameron Bright.
