Whenever we play military FPS' such as Call of Duty, Battlefield or Medal of Honor, we normally play as a Western protagonist, right? Well, what if you were controlling a protagonist from the Middle-East? Not only that, but in this game...they are the heroes.
I'm not kidding. The game is called Persian Gulf Soldiers. It's a military FPS that eerily looks like Call of Duty, but it replaces the USA with Iran as the country's that's out to save the world.
It's being developed by Amytis Games and its premise is built around Iranian Marines conducting operations in the Guld of Aden against Somali pirates.
The trailer can be seen below and don't worry, it doesn't show Western countries as the bad guys...at least not from the short gameplay trailer.
Admittedly, it's nowhere near as pretty as Call of Duty or games built on DICE's Frostbite 2, but it's not bad either.
In a rather surprising move, Persian Gulf Soldiers will be getting a Western release! Amytis Games plans to publish the Unity-developed title for an autumn 2012 Steam release.
And yes, the game will have multiplayer; although we don't know any details about it just yet. Would you be interested in giving this a go? I admit, the novelty alone has me intrigued.
