Directed by Oliver Stone and based on the novel by Don Winslow, the film follows a pair of Laguna Beach entrepreneurs who've made quite a lot of money in the marijuana business. When the duo refuses to cede territory to a dangerous cartel from south of the border, they start an escalating series of violent episodes, bringing the DEA and loved ones into a deadly pissing match.
The videos are here thanks to the official Savages site. Presumably, they're the first in several weekly interrogation introductions, since the videos specify that this is "Week 1." Kitsch's Chon kicks it off with his deadpan answer to whether or not he deals weed, saying, "No, but I smoke quite a bit of it," and a masked Del Toro finishes strong with his desire to be a lizard.
A theatrical trailer for Savages popped up back in April, and you can refresh your memory by clicking here.
Universal originally scheduled the movie for September, but following a test screening that reportedly earned a rapturous response in January, the studio moved Savages into the middle of the crowded summer season. The hard-edged ensemble is set to hit theaters on July 6th, where it should provide a violent, cynical alternative to The Amazing Spider-Man, Katy Perry: Part of Me, and Tyler Perry's Madea's Witness Protection.
Expect some more video interrogations for characters played by the likes of John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Demian Bechir, Emile Hirsch, Joel David Moore, and Trevor Donovan.
