A frustratingly short, but undoubtedly awesome teaser trailer attached to last month's "The Dictator" formally announced the reassembly of Ron Burgundy, Brian Fantana, Champ Kind and Brick Tamland as the Channel 4 news team for the upcoming sequel "Anchorman: The Legend Continues."

The follow-up won't hit theaters until next year, but we caught up with everyone's favorite lamp-loving weatherman Steve Carell while he was promoting his new film "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World," and he shared with MTV News his hopes and dreams for the return of Brick Tamland.

Unlike what we've come to expect from sequels where characters have evolved from the previous movie, Carell doesn't want Brick to be any different when the legend continues next year. He's actually hoping for the opposite.

"I hope he doesn't evolve at all," Carell said. "I haven't seen the script, so I'm not sure, but I hope he doesn't evolve."

To Carell, anything else wouldn't make sense, but he admits that he can't know for sure. "If any of those characters doesn't evolve, it's Brick. I think he wears exactly the same thing. I would assume that he would be exactly the same. We'll see though. You never know."

Not only does Carell not want an older and wiser Brick, he's crossing his fingers that his character stays in the background. "I hope he doesn't have any more presence in the movie than he did already," he said.

So if Carell gets his way, we can expect for of the same from Brick Tamland when "Anchorman: The Legend Continues" hits theaters next year, and that is by no means a bad thing.

Adam McKay and are currently busy working on the script for the sequel, which will reportedly take aim at the world of 24-hour news network, moving away from local news.
