It's not too surprising, then, that a new behind the scenes featurette for the film includes no small amount of enthusiastic puffing from director Adam Shankman, along with executive music producer/composer Adam Anders, choreographer Mia Michaels, and stars Julianne Hough, Mary J. Blige, Paul Giamatti, Alec Baldwin, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

If that look behind the scenes tickled your fancy, you can read IAR Managing Editor Jami Philbrick's visit to the Florida Rock of Ages set by clicking right here. Go ahead. Do it. Click.
Based on the successful musical by Chris D'Arienzo, Rock of Ages revolves The Bourbon Room, a fictitious musical venue on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles during the 1980s, the heyday of big hair. Julianne Hough and Diego Boneta play a small-town girl and a guy from the city, both of whom are pursing their musical dreams in LA. Naturally, they fall in love amidst the craziness surrounding the Bourbon Room, which is under siege by conservative types who object to all the booze-fueled gyrating and general rambunctiousness.
In addition to the alread-mentioned actors, the movie's ensemble cast includes Tom Cruise, Malin Akerman, Russell Brand, Will Forte, Bryan Cranston, and Kevin Nash.
I never thought I'd see the day, but a musical that proudly proclaims the presence of songs by Twisted Sister and Poison arrives in theaters next Friday, June 15th.
