'Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' and 'Hunger Games' Are Big Winners at the MTV Movie Awards'Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' and 'Hunger Games' Are Big Winners at the MTV Movie Awards

Last night's MTV Movie Awards weren't simply a two-hour delivery system for a minute-and-a-half glimpse of The Dark Knight Rises.  Well, actually, that's a matter of opinion, I suppose, but there was a lot of stuff going on in those other two hours anyways.  Since it's an awards show, awards were given out, as voted upon by MTV viewers.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 took home the top prize for Movie of the Year, but in terms of gross tonnage, The Hunger Games was the biggest winner with four separate awards.  The climactic installment in the eight-film Harry Potter franchise got two golden popcorn awards for Best Hero and Best Cast, while Bridesmaids nabbed two, one for Melissa McCarthy's comedic performance, and, somewhat inexplicably, one for the entire cast's Gut-Wrenching Performance.

The evening was hosted by man about town and English cad Russel Brand from Universal City, California.  While pretty much all awards shows are varying degrees of nonsense, the MTV Movie Awards are at self-aware enough to remove the pomp and circumstance, replacing them with some fun and categories that include Best On-Screen Scumbag.

Here's the full winners list:
