Steven Soderbergh's 'Magic Mike' Gets an All-Topless PosterSteven Soderbergh's 'Magic Mike' Gets an All-Topless Poster

The male gaze of the camera has been objectifying women long enough.  It's time for a movie to strike back.  It's time for a movie to feature some ridiculously in-shape, impossibly idealized men in leather chaps thrusting about with no shame, no reservations, and, most importantly, no shirts.  That movie, dear reader, is Magic Mike.

The one-sheet for the male-stripper movie more commonly known as "That Channing Tatum stripper movie" is now available online, and it does indeed feature Tatum as the titular stripper, wearing a little outfit that includes a tie and a collar but no button-up shirt attached to said collar.  Because Tatum alone isn't making the statement strongly enough, the poster also boasts four other recognizable slabs of man-meat.  Unfortunately, only one is sporting a mock-fireman's uniform.

This here poster showed up first at Apple, a site which, surprisingly, has nothing to do with the cultivation or selling of fruit. Go figure.

After working with Tatum on this year's action ass-kicking extravaganza Haywire, director Steven Soderbergh was intrigued by the actor's idea for a film very loosely based on his days as a male stripper.  In the film, written by Tatum's producing partner Reid Carolin, Tatum plays a seasoned stripping veteran acting as something of a mentor to a younger, more impressionable handsome man.  The role is inspired by a dude who did, in fact, help a younger, more impressionable Channing Tatum find his way in the world of abs, biceps, and tear-away pants.

Alex Pettyfer plays the younger protagonist, while Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, and Joe Manganiello also show up as man-candy.  On the non-stripping side of things, the cast is led by Cody Horn, daughter of newly-anointed Disney honcho Alan Horn, along with Olivia Munn, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Betsy Brandt, Riley Keough, and Kevin Nash.

Magic Mike arrives in theaters on June 29th, the date recently vacated by G.I. Joe: Retaliation.
