Namco Bandai has confirmed Dark Souls will be releasing on Steam upon its August launch.
There was a considerable backlash against the decision of having the game release via Games For Windows Live, with a petition gaining traction for a Steam release instead. It'll now release on both platforms.
In addition, the extra content that'll be available in the PC version entitled the Artorias of the Abyss expansion will release on the PS3 and Xbox 360 (via IGN). The add-on offers additional bosses, more areas, enemies, NPCs, armour and weapons. It'll cost 1200 Microsoft Points and $15 for PS3 players.
The PC version, entitled the Prepare to Die Edition, launches on August 24th.
