Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate Has Time Traveling Vampire Hunters

Nintendo Power (yes, they're apparently still in print) reports that the the upcoming Castlevania title, Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate for the 3DS will take place roughly 25 years after the events of the first game.

In the new adventure, players will take on the role of Trevor Belmont, whom I'm going to refer to as Magical Trevor from here on out. The player will switch between Trevor, Simon, and two other unannounced characters throughout the entire game as they work their way through Dracula's haunted castle during different time periods. Some time travel is involved.

Like previous Castlevanias, each character will have their own set of unique abilities. Magical Trevor can use the powers of light and shadow, while Simon can equip sub-weapons and summon guardians to do battle in his place.

The focus of the upcoming game will be on "non-linear exploration" not unlike the three Castlevania titles for the DS.

It's set for release this fall and is exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS.
