The latest issue of Nintendo Power magazine has just confirmed the existence of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate; and has done so well before Konami's pre-E3 show where the game's official reveal is to take place.
Mirror of Fate, which is coming to Nintendo's 3DS, is being developed by Mercury Steam; the same developer behind the awesome (in my opinion, at least) Lords of Shadow for current gen platforms.

Now for the details we know so far.
First up, the game will involve Trevor Belmont in some form, it's still not known if Gabriel will once again be the protagonist or if Trevor will be replacing him completely. The game's combat will once again be as deep as Lord of Shadows 1, and Trevor will fight using his own version of the Combat Cross that Gabriel used.
Strong attacks will be mapped to the X button, while wider-reaching ones will be mapped to Y. Secondary weapons (ie: Boomerang glaive, electric bomb, etc.) can be used with the A button. The R button will be used to grab enemies and the L button will be used to block and dodge enemies.
Regarding magic, light and shadow elements will once again be part of the combat; as well as collecting orbs for experience points in order to unlock new moves and combos.
Basically, that's all we know so far. If you're hard up for more info, Konami's pre-E3 show is just a mere two days away so hold tight until then.
