Kotaku reports that there is a rumor floating around that 38 Studios may be shutting down Big Huge Games, the company that helped develope Kingdoms of Amalur. 38 Studios has been going through a lot since they couldn't pay back the full loan that they had taken from Rhode Island. Layoffs and key people leaving the studio were only the beginning. If this comes to fruition who knows what might come next for the game developer.
38 Studios is slowly paying back Rhode Island and the release of the trailer and screen shots for Project Copernicus make it seem like nothing else will go wrong for them. I hope for the sake of the people working there that the company does not go under. Only time will tell dear readers.
