It's the first short from WIGS, a YouTube channel co-founded by Garcia, John Avnet, and Jake Avnet. A high-end content provider, WIGS is meant to appeal principally to a female audience, and has so far produced the YouTube series Jan, which stars Caitlin Gerard, Stephen Moyer, and Virgina Madsen.
Garcia said of his two stars, "Jennifer and Alfred were perfect. They elevated the script and found feeling and laughter where I had not seen it. I wish everything was this easy and fun."
Serena, which premeired online today, is the first in a series of ten short films that will star the likes of Michael C. Hall, Allison Janney, Walton Goggins, Maura Tierney, Jason Isaacs, Gary Cole, Jena Malone, Catherine O'Hara, America Ferrera, Dakota Fanning, Jane Kaczmarek, and Jennifer Beals.
