Hideo Kojima, ever-pervasive mind behind the popular Metal Gear franchise, has announced that we will see gameplay footage of his upcoming project before E3.
This gameplay footage will come in the form of Metal Gear: Rising, a title that we have all been eagerly anticipating. The Metal Gear franchise has always stuck its roots; it has maintained its seat as the king of stealth games. While Sam Fisher has given Solid Snake a run for his money in the esteemed Splinter Cell series, the long and lasting legacy of Metal Gear has left its mark for generations to come.
However, the aforementioned “roots” are about to be torn out from under the franchise. The game’s release grows ever closer, and with this release will come a new gameplay element: hack-and-slash. Raiden, long-time friend of Solid Snake, will take the reins for Metal Gear’s next entry. For those of you familiar with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, you probably understand just how awesome a hack-and-slash game featuring Raiden could be.
