A couple weeks ago we re-posted a report from Kotaku that XBLA Minecraft players were unable to get a refund because they could not play split screen co-op due to the experience apparently being exclusive to HDTV users. No mention of this was made it seems and so consumers lashed out.
According to Joystiq, users have finally gotten through to Microsoft's thick skull and SDTV (standard definition tv) users are getting a refund.
We updated our pre-sale notification to inform customers that an HD screen is required for the split-screen multiplayer feature on Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. If a player does not have an HD screen and purchased this game prior to the notification update, they are eligible for a full refund through customer support.
So to repeat there is now a clear disclaimer on the Minecraft XBLA page stating that HDTV users are the only ones who can play co-op. If you want a refund for the game because you can not play the game due to having an SDTV then you have to contact Microsoft through customer support.
Sheesh, if Notch were running this whole show we wouldn't have this problem...or it would be almost immediately remedied.
