In this iteration of Spidey's origin, Connors is a former co-worker of Peter Parker's father at Oscorp Industries, familiar to fans as the company headed by future Green Goblin Norman Osborn. Sony recently launched an official website for the fictitious corporation, to which it led fans through the @Scaleseeker Twitter and an ARG game. It's at the site Oscorpindustries.com that prospective interns can view this video of Connors:
Reordering some shapes at the bottom of the page where the latter video debuted, fans put together the word "mutagen," leading them to this page and the video below. It's basically an intro to Dr. Connors that goes through some background and insights on his character before dropping new looks at his transformation into the scaly bad guy.
Ifans apparently played his character's monstrous alter ego via motion-capture once he's fully transformed, but it's nice to see that at some point in his transformation, he'll be rocking the classic lab-coat-and-tail look familiar to comic fans.
Now that The Lizard is finally wreaking havoc on New York in a Spider-Man movie, it's tough not to feel for Dylan Baker, who played Connors as Peter's college professor in both Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3, but never got to play the character as a full-blown bad guy.
Andrew Garfield plays the rebooted Peter Parker, with Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Sally Field as Aunt May. The supporting cast also includes Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, Irrfan Khan, Campbell Scott, Embeth Davidtz, and Chris Zylka.
The Amazing Spider-Man brings the Lizard to theaters on July 3rd.
