That's not a criticism, just preparing y'all for the fact this this red band trailer doesn't hint at filth on the level of Borat or Bruno.  Instead, the red band content is mostly bad language and one instance of pantomimed oral sex.  There's plenty of misogyny thanks to Baron Cohen's Admiral General Aladeen, as well as John C. Reilly getting xenophobic about the aliens in Avatar (which he pronounces "Aye-vatar").

With promotion for The Dictator fully underway, Baron Cohen has been showing up in character all over the place.  Over the weekend, he took to Saturday Night Live to riff with Seth Morris during the Weekend Update segment.  There, he held up Roger Ebert's thumbs and rolled out legendary filmmaker Martin Scorses to endorse the movie under torture.  Watch away, thanks to the magic of Hulu.

Baron Cohen just worked with Scorsese, putting in a tremendous performance in last year's Hugo.  Later this year, the actor will appear in Django Unchained, the Spaghetti Western-inspired tale from writer-director Quentin Tarantino.

Baron Cohen co-wrote The Dictator with Jeff Schaffer, Alec Berg, and David Mandel.  Director Larry Charles assembled a pretty formidable cast of to support Baron Cohen, including Anna Faris, Jason Mantzoukas, J.B. Smoove, Aasif Mandvi, Bobby Lee, Kevin Corrigan, Ben Kingsley, B.J. Novak, Megan Fox, and John C. Reilly.

The film arrives at theater near you on May 16th.
