Three new images from Pixar's next feature, Brave, have arrived online for your viewing pleasure. For quite some time, this film was being made under the working title The Bear and the Bow, and both formerly-eponymous elements are on display in these new stills.
Princess Merida is lining up a shot with her bow in the first image. In the second marvelously-lit still, she's airborne between a friendly-looking bear and a rather intimidating bear claw. Then, in the third, we see a trio of teeny, tiny little bearcubs who suspiciously resemble Merida's mischievous little brothers. They're also so cute you'll want to puke skittles just looking at them.
Even if the studio's last effort was its first critical disappointment, it held up Pixar's standard of technical innovation and visual mastery, but
Brave looks like it should deliver on both fronts. Just look at the tangle of Merida's hair or those shafts of light in the second image.
Anyways, all three of these are here thanks to Cinema Blend, where Kelly West does some solid speculating about the still-mysterious Brave plot.

Seriously, look how cute they are. Once you start, you can't really look away. You just want to hug them and squeeze them until their cute little eyeballs pop out of their cute little heads. Cars and Toy Story are merchandising juggernauts for Disney, and Brave isn't the sort of material that will lend itself so readily to merch, but these little bastards have to show up on store shelves as stuffed animals, right?
Back on topic. Native Scot Kelly Macdonald stars as the voice of Princess Merida, Pixar's first heroine in its history. The supporting voice cast includes folks like Emma Thompson, Billy Connolly, Kevin McKidd, Robbie Coltrane, Craig Ferguson, and Julie Walters.
Brave arrives in theaters on June 22nd.
