In order to get audiences properly psyched to see two and a half minutes promoting the next Batman's next adventure, the viral marketing campaign has kicked back into gear. Nothing gets fans in a lather quite like viral treasure hunts and Alternate Reality Game shenanigans, so here we go.
Okay, so the film's official site has been updated with an "Anonymous Vigilante Investigation," including a wanted poster and arrest warrant for Batman, since Gotham City is under the impression that not only does he take the law into his own hands, but he's also killed six people. The ARG game leads to some images from the upcoming trailer, but first check out these documents:

So, the official site provides physical locations where fans can go looking for this symbol:

Once anybody finds that little guy, instructions are to, "Submit photographic evidence of graffiti related to any movement in support of the vigilante's return. Make sure that location services or store location is on in your camera settings. Report any and all information pertaining to the investigation to the designated contact (#tdkr07202012 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )"
The reward for doing so are little teases of the trailer, like this sampling thanks to Coming Soon.

Are you feeling the hype yet? Yeah you are. After all, it's the climactic installment of Christopher Nolan's much-loved Bat-trilogy. Working from a story by himself and his Batman Begins co-writer, Nolan wrote the screenplay with his brother and The Dark Knight screenwriter Jonathan Nolan. Most franchises are designed to just keep on trucking, so the idea that Nolan has a definitive ending planned has the potential to cap off his acclaimed run properly.
Christian Bale dons the cape one last time, joined by fellow veterans Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman. Tom Hardy leads new castmembers, along with Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle. The rest of the cast is filled out by the likes of Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, and Matthew Modine.
The Dark Knight Rises rises in theaters on July 20th.
