Weapons Out for Eight New 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' ImagesWeapons Out for Eight New 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' Images

We've previously seen a bunch of images from the upcoming sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and they consisted pretty much exclusively of characters wielding guns and swords.  There's more of that today, as eight new images from Hasbro and Paramount's sequel/sorta rebootish have arrived online, showing Roadblock, Jinx, and Snake Eyes all getting their guns and swords on.  That's not all, though, there are also comparatively relaxed stills in which castmembers are not sporting lethal weapons.

Still, plenty of guns and what have you on display.  Despite Dwayne Johnson's ridiculous musculature and an insanely big gun or two, the highlight of these stills from Stark Industries is undoubtedly Adrianne Palicki in a a red dress.  No visual effect or setpiece could possibly compare.

These images provide our best look so far at D.J. Cotrona in character as Flint.  The actor has appeared on plenty of television series, but a few years back he was actually cast as Superman in Justice League: Mortal, the DC team-up that Warner Bros came very close to actually shooting under the direction of George Miller.

But back to the Hasbro-based sequel.  New castmembers portraying characters based on action figures include Cotrona,  Dwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, Bruce Willis, Joseph Mazzello, Elodie Yung, RZA, and Ray Stevenson.  The few actors returning from Stephen Sommers's 2009 joint G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra are Channing Tatum, Ray Park, Byung-hun Lee, Arnold Vosloo, Jonathan Pryce, and Channing Tatum.

The Jon M. Chu-directed sequel hits theaters on June 29th.
