Once again, this set photo features Zachary Quinto as the rebooted Spock, but unlike last time, he's solo in this one.
The image debuted at MTV today, and as you can see, he's wearing a protective suit. What's it protecting him from, exactly? Spoiler, bur apparently he's basically gone spelunking. In a volcano.

Sporting his "Volcano Suit," the Enterprise's resident Vulcan is investigating a volcano with an unidentified piece of Starfleet hardware. In order to simulate that scorching interior of a volcano, the production had a real fire burning off-camera so as to create proper reflections on the shiny outfit.
We have no idea how the volcano figures into the story, which Paramount and Abrams's Bad Robot have very successfully kept under wraps. That story is written by returning screenwriters Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, along with producer Damon Lindelof, who also contributed to this summer's Prometheus.
Quinto's back in the pointy Spock ears, joining Enterprise captain and bro for life James Tiberius Kirk, played again by Chris Pine. Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, and Bruce Greenwood are back for a second round as well. Benedict Cumberbatch is on board as the mysterious villain, and the other new additions include Alice Eve, Noel Clarke, and Peter Weller.
The as-yet untitled Star Trek sequel is scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 17, 2013.
