Plenty of Action in a 'Total Recall' Behind the Scenes FeaturettePlenty of Action in a 'Total Recall' Behind the Scenes Featurette

Earlier this week, Sony Pictures let the cat out of the bag with the reveal of the first trailer for Total Recall, the remake of Paul Verhoeven's 1990 adaption, which loosely took on Philip K. Dick short story We Can Remember It For You Wholesale.  Now that the cat's out of the bag, it's busily doing adorable cat-stuff.  By which I mean to say that there's now an official behind the scenes video for Total Recall online.

The video contains glimpses at the crazy-complicated shooting of some action sequences.  You'll see flipping cars, actors dangling from wires, swirly high-tech camera rigs, big dolly moves, and even actors pretending to beat the living hell from each other.

Mostly, though, you'll see the ridiculously photogenic leads Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel, and Kate Beckinsale talking about their characters and the film as a whole.

This look behind the scenes of Total Recall is the work of Entertainment Weekly.

We know for sure that, unlike its cinematic predecessor, this Total Recall won't take the story to Mars, which was a crucial setting in Verhoeven's happily deranged film.  It remains unknown, however, whether the new film will contain nudity from a triple-breasted woman.  Mark that down as unlikely.

He's not present in this video featurette, but the new film's cast also includes three-time Emmy winner Bryan Cranston, now known to the world as Mr. White aka Heisenberg on the AMC series Breaking Bad.  Cranston's playing the movie's big bad, Chancellor Vilos Cohaagen, a version of which was played by Ronny Cox many moons ago.  The supporting cast also includes John Cho, Bokeem Woodbine, Bill Nighy, Ethan Hawke, and Brooks Darnell.

Total Recall is set to arrive in theaters on August 3rd, when it'll go head to head with The Bourne Legacy.
