The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists opens in cinemas this week, and you can watch an exclusive interview with stars Hugh Grant and David Tennant and director Peter Lord, right here.
The seafaring tale is latest stop-motion adventure from Aardman, and it’s packed with the kind of lovingly crafted detail and typically British humour that has become the animation house’s calling card.

Based on the novel by Gideon Defoe, the film follows the hapless Pirate Captain (Hugh Grant) on his mission to bag the Pirate of the Year award. Along the way, his crew crosses paths with young scientist Charles Darwin (David Tennant), who takes a shine to Pirate Captain’s parrot (which is strikingly dodo-like…)
