With Blizzard hard at work on Titan, their next-gen PC MMO, you might think that World of Warcraft is finally on the way out, but the developer apparently has other plans. Blizzard has revealed that the team already have plans for "multiple expansions" beyond the upcoming Mists of Pandaria indicating that they intend to continue supporting WoW for years to come.
When asked by CVG whether fans could expect further expansions, company COO Paul Sams left no room for misinterpretation. "Absolutely, because I know what the next one is," he said.
"I got the pitch from Chris Metzen of what they plan for 6.0 and I'm pretty geeked up about it," Sams continued. "They already know what they're going to be doing for multiple expansions ahead. They have an idea - a general framework. They're these lore creators. They're the ones who drive what the world looks like today and what it'll be like tomorrow and beyond."
Earlier this week, Blizzard sent out invitations to the Mists of Pandaria beta. The expansion is expected to launch to the public sometime this summer.
