One of my fondest memories from the PS2 when I was younger was playing Max Payne 2. Of course I loved the slow motion bullet time that happened whenever you went into a dive (which resulted in me diving into every room, around every corner, and just any time I saw any enemy at all) but something about the whole 'ultra-noir' style of storytelling really appealed to me. Even if it may have been a little overwrought at times, I thought the game was great on the whole.
So it's not terribly surprising that I have been looking forward to the release of Max Payne 3 for some time. With the advances that have been made in gameplay, graphics, and storytelling, we might be looking at a fantastic little shooter when the game finally releases in May. As you probably have heard, the game takes place in Sao Paolo, Brazil, where Max is working as a bodyguard for a wealthy family. Predictably, things go wrong and Max has to save the day.
The official image above has been seen before, but there's one little difference...Max has hair! In earlier versions of this picture, Max was depicted as having a shaved head, which made him seem a little tougher, in my opinion. Wonder why they decided to change it? Maybe it just didn't feel right to have a very introspective lead character who looked like he was built for head-cracking alone. Let us hear your thoughts on the art in the comments section.
