Have you ever wanted to dance semi-naked for the pleasure and arousal of Jabba the Hutt? I know you have, and so do the creators of Kinect Star Wars. With the game coming out in a little over a couple of months, the attitude on the internet seems to imply that if this is anything less than the action of Force Unleashed added to the depth of Knights of the Old Republic then there's going to be some serious hate.
As it happens, two of the mini-games demoed in the video aren't looking too bad. The pod racing could be hugely fun and, honestly, seeing any sort of pod racing game is pretty exciting after all these years of bitter disappointment. The dancing could be fun, other hugely popular dance games have come to Kinect and been well-received, so why not this? I mean, other than playing as mainly naked women (including Leia in the slave outfit, who showed no sign of being such a good dancer in the films) for the enjoyment of all the men, aliens and robots. It's not just a dance sim, its perhaps your one chance of knowing how it feels to have a green faced alien looking at your exposed body whilst thinking "gee, I'd hit that."
It's a pretty Inception-based look at sexism if you ask me.
The other two - playing as a Jedi and trashing a town as the Rancor - look a little wonky in the controls, but having not played them I can't really comment. If it's been pulled off well, it could be fun (although little more). In reality though, I can't help but think that, rather than feeling like you ARE the Jedi, you'll more likely feel like a nerd, in front of a camera, making stupid moves and getting frustrated at what's on screen.
