The Halo Waypoint is typically the first website to offer breaking information about 343 Industries' upcoming game, Halo 4. And with good reason—they run the site.
Today, they've set up a page called "What is the Halo Array?" which attempts to clarify what the ring worlds in the Halo universe are. It's an especially helpful guide for anyone who hasn't played the earliest games or read any of the ancillary novels by Greg Bear, who explains the Halo Array best in his book "Halo: Cryptum", the first title in the Forerunner Saga.
The Halo Array is described as a collection of seven ring-shaped superstructures that were constructed over a hundred thousand years ago. Although they look like peaceful habitations, they are in fact gigantic weapons of mass destruction, designed and built to unleash death on an interstellar scale.
The guide up on Halo Waypoint is an attempt to clarify what they are and what they do, and has everything you'll need to know about them to get up to speed with the lore. Be sure to check it out here.
Halo 4 will be out on November 6 for the Xbox 360.
